Speaker Núñez to Stress Need for Comprehensive Immigration Reform, Will Urge People to Attend Sunday’s First Annual “Justice for Our Families Now” Forum

Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez, just returning from a bipartisan trip from Washington DC to lobby for the state’s needs, will urge people to attend Sunday’s First Annual Immigrant Communities Forum “Justice for Our Families Now” and discuss the urgent need for comprehensive immigration reform.

Friday, March 23, 2007
9:30 a.m.

Los Angeles Sports Arena (Figueroa entrance)
3939 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90037

The Forum is scheduled exactly one year after the first record-breaking marches took place in Los Angeles and other urban centers throughout the United States. The event is intended to educate, celebrate, and mobilize immigrant communities. Mixed with live entertainment, community leaders, and elected officials, participants will learn about the citizenship process, voter registration, and what an immigration reform would look like.

In lieu of an admission ticket, community members are asked to bring a blank envelope and a .39 cent US Postage Stamp. More than 10,000 participants are expected.
